No BJP leader took Aaditya's name in Sushant case: Fadnavis

Pune:  Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said that no BJP leader "directly or indirectly" took state minister Aaditya Thackeray's name in connection with Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of the inauguration of a COVID-19 hospital at Baner here, Fadnavis said that surprising revelations are coming up in the case.

Rajput was found hanging at his flat in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14. The CBI has recently taken over the probe into the case.

"No leader from the BJP has taken the name of Aaditya Thackeray directly or indirectly (in Rajput case). The kind of revelations that are coming up in the case, I think they are surprising," he said.

The Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly wondered why all these revelations did not come to light before the CBI took over the probe.

ED summons Goa businessman; NCB gathers details

New Delhi/Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned a Goa-based businessman in connection with its money laundering probe linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, officials said on Friday.

They said Gaurav Arya, who runs a hotel in the coastal state, has been asked to depose before the central probe agency at its office in the Ballard Estate area of Mumbai on August 31.

The summons was stuck at his property in Goa as the agency was not able to get in touch with him, they said.

Arya is being called after the ED came across some mobile phone messages reportedly sent by actor and Rajput's live-in partner Rhea Chakraborty to him in 2017 and they purportedly indicate discussion of certain banned narcotics, they said.

Goa: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has put a notice at Gaurav Arya's hotel, The Tamarind in Anjuna in Goa, asking him to appear before the agency before August 31.

Reportedly, Arya is the alleged drug supplier of Rhea Chakraborty.

The Enforcement Directorate recently handed over chat records of the actress to the NCB over a possible drug use angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case.  

The recovered Whatsapp chats of Rhea allegedly indicate that she was taking instructions from someone to administer a drug to the late actor.

Patna: Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan on Sunday said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case will expose drug cartels and several names would be revealed.  

"It was initially quite shocking for me but I knew such things happen quite frequently in the industry. The drug network is worth several hundred crores.  These drugs, which have a lot of different names, like LSD, cocaine, MD, and are available at rave parties, are not within the reach of common people. Many big names will be exposed by the investigation," Kishan told media persons.  

"I used to think that people in the film industry were conscious about their health and would not indulge in these things but I soon learnt that several people were involved. Narcotics Control Bureau should also look into this as soon as possible. They should track where the drugs came from and how they are moved around the country," he added.

He said the drug cartel will be exposed soon. "These drugs ruin the lives of the younger generation and destroy the lives of talented Bollywood actors," he told reporters. The Gorakhpur MP said that he is confident that the probe agencies will go to the bottom of the issue and find the truth.

"I believe that the investigation is headed in the right direction. The death of the actor will be properly investigated," he said.
