People nowadays are concerned a lot about their skin, especially if they have pimples and skin irritation. To clear all skin irritation issues our Expert, Dr. Sailaja Surapaneni, Dermatologist shared a few tips to get rid of them.

Both women and men have always been concerned about their skin, especially the problem of pimples and skin irritations. Our skin expert, Dr. Sailaja Surapaneni recommends some home remedies and basic measures that can be practiced while at home:

For Skin Rashes Due To Skin Folds

  • Apply calamine lotion on the affected area, 2-3 times a day
  • Immerse a towel in cold water and place it on the affected area
  • Aloe Vera gel is also very effective
  • Prickly heat powder helps with the skin irritations
  • If the situation gets worse, consult a doctor over the phone. They may recommend proper medication, which can be in for of oral pills or anti-inflammatory ointments

For Fungal Infections And Acne Problems

Due to higher perspiration during summers and after workout sessions, areas like armpits or pubic regions can get affected with fungal infections. Therefore, you must:

  • Bath immediately after a workout
  • Bath twice a day during summers if possible
  • Dry yourself well after a bath
  • Use talcum powder after drying yourself
  • Wear light, cotton clothes

Other Tips

  • Keeping yourself hydrated is most important. Drink at least 3-4 liters everyday
  • Lockdown the cosmetics and make-up items and be natural. Use homemade face packs
  • Avoid using chemical based hair dyes
  • Clean up your make-up brushes. Using a dirty brush can cause skin problems
  • Try to avoid using things your skin is allergic to, like bindi, kumkum, etc.
  • Prolonged use of nail paints can cause yellowness in nails. Therefore, avoid them during this period.
  • Almond oil or olive oil can be used to replenish lips instead of lip shades
  • Physical activities and exercises are also necessary for good skin
  • A healthy diet is the key to a healthy skin
