Hyderabad: Six people were killed and four others sustained severe injuries when the SUV they were travelling in met with an accident in Outer Nehru Ring Road nearby Patancheru in Sangareddy district. The passengers were coming from Uttar Pradesh and were heading towards Karnataka.
A vehicle carrying 10 people from UP was hit by another while trying to overtake it leaving six dead on the spot, police said.
Police visited the incident spot and an investigation has been initiated. The police suspect over-speeding to be the reason for the accident.
"We are investigating the matter," Sangareddy police said.
The deceased, belonging to Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, have been identified as Kamalesh Lohare, Hari Lohare, Pramod Bhuher, Vinod Bhuher, Pawan Kumar and the driver. Kamlesh, Hari, Pramod and Vinod are residents of Jharkhand while Pramod belongs to Gorakhpur.
The injured Pramod Kumar, Arjun, Anand Kumar, Chandra Vamshi were rushed to the nearby hospital for medical treatment.
