SIT visits Jamia to probe viral videos

In order to investigate the Jamia violence viral videos, Delhi Police's special investigation team (SIT), led by DCP Rajesh Dev, on Tuesday visited Jamia Millia Islamia.

New Delhi: To probe the Jamia violence viral videos, the Delhi Police's special investigation team (SIT), led by DCP Rajesh Dev, on Tuesday visited Jamia Millia Islamia.

The SIT spent about 3 hours at the campus and interacted with the staff and students, the Delhi Police said in a statement.

The SIT team visited the university library and inspected the places seen in the video. The Chief Proctor of the university cooperated with the team, it added.

On Wednesday a virtual video war was broken out between the pupils of Jamia and Delhi Police where three new CCTV clips of December 15 police action inside the Jamia campus have surfaced. This has ignited new debates and various controversies across the nation. (With inputs from IANS)
