New Delhi: Several signs of friction have been observed between the BJP and its key NDA ally the Janata Dal (U) in recent times, to the extent that the BJP might be preparing for a life without the Nitish Kumar-led party in Bihar.
The tension has escalated with a statement by senior BJP leader Sanjay Paswan that it was time that the JD(U) make way for a BJP CM in the state. The remarks have not gone down well with the JD(U) leadership.
Talking on the whole issue, Congress deputy in-charge of Bihar, Virendra Rathore alleged that the BJP wants to destroy all the regional parties.
"The BJP wants to finish Nitish Kumar and his party in Bihar. It's been BJPs old habit to lure the MPs and legislators of regional parties and this is going to happen in Bihar too. The BJP has its own ambition in Bihar," said Rathore.
On being asked whether the doors of the grand alliance will be open for Nitish Kumar? To this, Rathore said that what will be the nature of the grand alliance in Bihar, who will join the new parties, will be decided by the Congress working president Sonia Gandhi.
It is to be noted that, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Modi had tweeted on Wednesday, "Nitish Kumar is the captain of NDA in Bihar & will remain its Captain in next assembly elections in 2020 also. When Captain is hitting fours and sixes and defeating rivals where is the question of any change." Although, he later deleted his tweet that also raised few eyebrows.
