Shah, Nadda to visit Bengal, hold talks with angry BJP leaders: Dilip Ghosh

Bengal BJP President and MP Dilip Ghosh said that in the last one month, the state leadership has held several meetings, some of which have been held in Kolkata and Delhi. In today's meeting, the top leadership of the party was briefed about them, as well as the preparations in Bengal.

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda on Thursday held a meeting with the West Bengal BJP core team at the residence where Home Minister Amit Shah was also present.

West Bengal BJP state president Dilip Ghosh, newly appointed national vice president Mukul Roy, in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, and former state president Rahul Sinha were also present in attendance.

The meeting lasted more than four hours and discussions regarding the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, the party organization, and the upcoming events were held.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Bengal BJP President and MP Dilip Ghosh said that in the last one month, the state leadership has held several meetings, some of which have been held in Kolkata and Delhi. In today's meeting, the top leadership of the party was briefed about them, as well as the preparations in Bengal.

The Bengal BJP unit is currently running several agitations in the state, including providing relief to the cyclone Amphan affected people, opposing violent politics, and making people aware of the plans of the Modi government at the Centre.

Shah, Nadda to visit Bengal before Durga Puja

Dilip Ghosh added that Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda may have a big program in Bengal before Dussehra. He has requested the top leadership to hold a meeting with the workers in Bengal and take stock of the preparations there.

Ghosh also said that, due to the Corona epidemic, only virtual meetings and talks have been held, so having a big program will inspire the workers.

Recently, National President JP Nadda announced a new national team which saw major changes. Some of the new leaders from Bengal were given bigger positions while the old leaders have been excluded.

Rahul Sinha is one of them. BJP state president Rahul Sinha was the national secretary in Bengal but he was not given a place in Nadda's new team due to which he expressed his displeasure.

Sinha recently also talked about taking a big decision in 10-12 days.

On Sinha's displeasure, Ghosh said that when change happens, it has an impact on everyone. If someone is happy, someone gets disappointed but it should not be made an issue. He also added that those who had been heading different positions for a long time will now be given second responsibility. Discussion is going on with concerned officials for this. Some leaders in Bengal are also angry, we will try and console them.

Rahul Sinha was also present in today's meeting but he did not talk to the media.
