New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday took stock of the prevailing law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeastern states.
In two separate meetings with the senior officials from the Home Ministry, Shah was appraised about the present condition.
Sources said that the officials from Kashmir division have handed over a list of suspected terrorists operating from the disputed territory of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In another meeting with the Northeast division, the Home Minister was briefed about the situation in the region.
Even in the previous Modi regime, Northeastern states were given due attention based on its 'Act East' policy, with the aim of bringing development and ensuring security to the region.
Besides, the officials are believed to have appraised Shah regarding the steps taken to maintain law and order in the region, especially ahead of the publication of the final draft of National Register of Citizen (NRC).
