New Delhi: A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam to address a mammoth gathering commemorating the historic Bodo Accord, Communist Party of India (CPI) senior leader Atul Anjan on Thursday said that the accord is nothing but only a tactic by the government to divert attention from other issues.

Hitting out at the BJP government, Atul Anjan said that NRC is a total failure, and to expect peace out of NRC is to fool oneself. "You can't establish peace this way, this is a ploy being played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Did NRC in Assam bring peace? Lakhs of people have been left out of the NRC list. Many of these people are from the Muslim community and the maximum of them hail from the Hindu community," Anjan added.
