Noida admin goes tough on school fee hikes

Action will be taken against private schools for arbitrarily increasing school fee. 46 private schools in Noida were asked to submit affidavits by May 8 but most of them have failed to follow administration's instruction.

Noida: District Administration is all set to take action against the arbitrary increase in school fees by private schools in Noida. Despite instructions given by the District Regulatory Authority, most of the 46 schools have not submitted the affidavit yet.

49 private schools in Gautam Budh Nagar were directed to submit their affidavits by May 8 but most of them have not submitted it even after the last date was over. District administration will take action against schools that haven't submitted the affidavit.

Committee to hear complaints against 8 schools
Apart from this authority will also lend ear to the public complaints against 8 schools that have hiked their fees. It's significant that according to the Uttar Pradesh Fee Increase Act 2018, schools cannot increase fees arbitrarily and are bound to update school fee structures it on their website. If the act is not followed, action can be taken by District Administration.


What is the UP Regulation Act
Action will be taken against schools by the district administration as per UP Fee Regulation Act. First-time defaulters will be fined Rs 1 Lakh and second-time defaulters will be fined Rs 5 Lakh. School's license will be cancelled if it falters for the third time.
