SC refuses to entertain former J&K minister's plea challenging probe into educational institutions run by his family

The Supreme Court has refused to entertain a plea by the former Jammu & Kashmir minister Abdul Ghani Kohli challenging probe into educational institutions run by his family. A bench comprising of Justice UU Lalit and Justice Aniruddha Bose disposed off the petition and asked him to withdraw.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court vacation bench comprising of Justice UU Lalit and Justice Aniruddha Bose disposed off the petition by the former Jammu & Kashmir minister Abdul Ghani kohli and asked him to withdraw. Kohli's petition challenged the J&K HC order which directed probe into the educational institutions owned and run by his family on the forest land in Nowabad village of Sunjawan, Jammu.

Justice Lalit said that the HC order has issued notice only to the authorities to understand how the building complexes were put up and there was no question of law in the order.

The bench refused to entertain the plea saying that HC does not warrant interference and in fact the matter is listed today before the HC.
