SC pulls up centre for non-implementation of OROP; grants two weeks time

The Bharatiya Janta Party-led central government on Wednesday was granted two-weeks time to figure out the alleged anomalies in the 'One Rank, One Pension' scheme by the Supreme Court. The top court also pulled up the centre for not having filed a reply on the implementation of the scheme.

New Delhi: The Supreme court on Wednesday pulled up the Central government for not having filed a reply on the implementation of the One Rank One Pension Scheme.

The apex court also granted two-weeks time to the centre to look into the alleged anomalies in the scheme.

The Supreme court has scheduled the hearing on the matter in the second week of January in 2020.

On May 1, the Supreme court had passed an order asking the central government to consider the grievances of the retired servicemen "seriously".

The apex court also granted two-weeks time to the centre to look into the alleged anomalies in the scheme.

The Supreme court has scheduled the hearing on the matter in the second week of January in 2020.

On May 1, the Supreme court had passed an order asking the central government to consider the grievances of the retired servicemen "seriously".

Intro:The Supreme court gave two more weeks of time to the central governmemt to look into the alleged anomalies in the One Rank One Pension Scheme's implementation . The apex court also asked the centre on why it hasn't filed a reply yet when the orders were passed in may itself.


Body:The Supreme court has scheduled the hearing of the matter in the second week of January in 2020.

On 1st May the Supreme court had passed an order asking the the central government to consider the grievances of the retired servicemen "seriously" and to determine whether and if so to what extent the justice can be provided to the retired servicemen.

Retired servicemen demand of uniform pension to the servicemen who have retired from the same post and has served for the same time period irrespective of their retirement date.
