New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to ICSE on a petition seeking to adopt CBSE policy for conducting compartment exams for students who failed in standard IX and XI.

On May 13, the CBSE had issued a notification that it will conduct compartment exams for class IX and XI.

It was challenged before the apex court contending that it is not safe to conduct exams amid prevailing COVID situation.

ICSE wants the same notifications to be adopted so that students are not deprived of their right to equality.

It is to be noted that when boards were cancelled ICSE had informed the court that it will opt CBSE's guidelines but was reluctant on passing the student without conducting the examination.
