Jaipur: A Scheduled Caste family from a village of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan has urged the state administration to either take action against the people who allegedly forced them to evict their village over a year ago or allow the family to commit suicide.
"As I objected to their behaviour, they beaten me up," he said.
"I have met all police officials, including some at the top level, many a times in the past one year but nothing has been done ensure safety and security of my family," he said, adding that "I can't work and the family is on the verge of collapse".
"My children can't go to school as we have been displaced. We cannot go back as the people in question are roaming free," he said, urging the administration to arrest them and face the law.
He said: "My demands are simple either they should be arrested so that we can return to our village and start working as usual or my family should be allowed to commit suicide".
