A Btech student has been arrested for allegedly harassing an air hostess by calling her from 700 different phone numbers and sending obscene messages.

Roorkee: Uttarakhand police have arrested a 23-year-old Btech student for allegedly harassing and sending obscene messages to an air hostess. The complaint was filed by the victim's father in which he has stated that the accused harassed his daughter by calling her from different numbers and sending indecent messages.

The accused had called the air hostess from 700 different numbers. According to cops, he used to borrow mobile from different persons on some excuse and send messages and make calls to the victim from those mobiles. The mobile phone of the student has been taken by the police for investigation.

According to the information, the victim's father filed a case in Roorkee Civil Line Kotwali in December 2019. The father had told the police that the accused has been harassing his daughter by sending obscene messages and calls from different phone numbers for a long time. According to the father, the accused also intimidated his daughter.

On the complaint of the victim's father, the police arrested the accused Rohit Saxena from his Bareilly residence.

Two years ago, the victim and her friend had booked a train ticket from Bareilly with the help of accused Rohit Saxena. The accused had taken full information and mobile number about the air hostess from her friend and started calling her repeatedly. He also talked about marrying the victim to which she refused following which he threatened to throw acid on her and rape her.

Police officer Rajesh Shah said that Rohit's father is a railway officer in Bareilly. Air hostess had also filed a case against the accused in Bareilly.
