New Delhi: Addressing the Conference of Governors on National Education Policy 2020, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the NEP 2020 is future-ready and will give a new direction to the social and economic life of the 21st century India.
Addressing the Conference, Polhriyal said, "Whether it is school education or higher education, the roadmap for the implementation has been prepared by the government. To implement it till the end and in a phased manner, the Ministry of Education has created more than 300 points which will be given to the state governments within a week. The Ministry of Education will consult with the State Governments on these 300 points after which a guideline will be prepared to implement the new education policy."
"The NEP-2020 will make the country multi-lingual, hopeful. It will stand on the basis of Indianness and reach international limits, it will be effective and will help in ensuring the continuance of dialogue. It will also be inclusive," Nishank said.
During the discussion, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren raised the issue of commercialization of education in the new education policy. In response to this, Education Minister said that today anyone who reads this education policy will understand that there is no commercialization in it and about it, he will also discuss separately with Hemant Soren.
Notably, the conference, titled 'Role of NEP-2020 in transforming higher education', was organised by the Union Ministry of Education. It was also to be attended by education ministers of all states and other senior officials.
