Mumbai Court to hear Rhea's bail plea order on Friday

A Mumbai court on Thursday adjourned for tomorrow hearing on the bail application of actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others in a drug case related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

The Sessions court in Mumbai, which heard arguments on the bail application of Rhea, Showik, Dipesh Sawant, Samuel Miranda, Zaid Vilatara and Bashit Parihar, is also likely to pronounce its order on the bail pleas tomorrow.

Rhea, who was arrested and later sent to 14-day judicial custody in the matter, moved a bail application in a local court here claiming she is being falsely implicated in the case. The bail plea of her brother Showik and other accused, who were arrested in the case, was also heard today.

Mumbai: ActorRhea Chakraborty, held in a drugs case linked to her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death, has alleged in her bail application filed in a Mumbai court that during her interrogation by the NCB, she was "coerced" into making "self-incriminating confessions".

In the plea filed in a sessions court on Wednesday, Rhea also claimed that she has not committed any crime whatsoever and has been falsely implicated in the case.

Mumbai: A special court here will hear the bail applications of actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik on Thursday, revealed her lawyer Satish Maneshinde.

"Bail Applications of Rhea Chakraborty and Showik fixed for hearing on 10th Sept 2020 in Spl Court Mumbai," shared her advocate Satish Maneshinde, along with a copy of the 20-page bail application.

The actress and Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea was arrested on Tuesday by the Narcotics Central Bureau (NCB) in a drug case as part of the probe into Sushant's death.

Rhea has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle that has emerged during an investigation into the June 14 death of Sushant.

The NCB registered a case on request by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after alleged chats showed Rhea, her brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda had ordered the drugs.
