New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday said that Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who was summoned by BJP chief J P Nadda for making a controversial remark on Deoband, should be thrown out of the government as he has been doing so for the past six years.
"Giriraj Singh has been making all sorts of statements for the past six years. It's not new to him. He should be thrown out of the government," senior Congress leader Rashid Alvi told ETV Bharat here.
He said the minister forcing a Christian family not to bury its dead and instead go for funeral with Hindu rituals was criminal.
"He should be punished for it as his remarks over a particular religion is anti-constitution. An FIR should be registered against him," he said.

The Congress leader said it was shameful for a union minister to do so, especially when India prepares to welcome US President Donald Trump for a two-day visit this month.
BJP leader Giriraj Singh stoked a controversy on Thursday by describing Deoband as the "Gangotri of terrorism" from where terrorists like Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed come.
The minister said this when asked about the protest against the Citizen Amendment Act (CAA) in Deoband.
