Talking to media, the leader said, "I am safe and sound. I went to Jhanjharpur for an election campaign with Minister Mangal Pandey. The rotor blade of the helicopter slightly scratched near the boundary wall after we deboarded. I am absolutely fine."

Patna: The rotor blade of the helicopter that flew Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to a poll rally in Bihar was damaged at the Patna airport on Saturday after he disembarked from the aircraft, his office said. 

The incident occurred after Prasad returned to Patna from Madhubani, where he had gone for campaigning for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

According to sources, no injuries have been reported. Prasad was accompanied by the state's health minister Mangal Pandey. 

The minister was returning from Jamui after addressing an election campaign for the Bihar assembly elections. 

The BJP leader's office took to Twitter to inform that the news of accident of helicopter carrying Union Minister is not correct and he is safe and sound.

The office also informed that rotor blade of the helicopter carrying Ravi Shankar Prasad was damaged at the airport hangar after the dignitaries had already alighted and left.  

The minister was returning from Jamui after addressing an election campaign for the Bihar assembly elections.  

According to information, the two propellors were completely damaged and airport authority officials immediately came to the rescue of the ministers.

Political parties in Bihar are preparing in full swing and are busy addressing virtual and physical rallies ahead of elections.  

Voting for 243 constituencies in Bihar will be held in three phases which will be held on October 28, November 3 and November 7. The counting of votes will be done on November 10.
