New Delhi: Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh paid tribute to the martyred farmers on "Kisan Shaheed Diwas" on Saturday. Thousands of farmers and youth did fasting for a day in memory of the martyred farmers.
Due to coronavirus, Farmers in red zones did fasting in their homes and in green zones, farmers kept collective fast in villages while maintaining Social distancing.
Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh also sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister.
Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh's Activists spread awareness among farmers for using social media on current farmers' issues.
Social activist Anna Hazare did fasting on "Kisan Shaheed Diwas" and in the video message issued to farmers and labourers, he said that the central government is not giving MSP to farmers according to the C2 + 50% formula of Swaminathan Commission.
He said that until the MSP will not be given by adding 50% above the input cost to the crops, it is not possible to improve the condition of the farmers.
Farmer leader Shiv Kumar Kakkaji from Madhya Pradesh issued a message saying that the central government is taking advantage of the lockdown implemented due to coronavirus and passed anti-farmer ordinances.
He said that the central government has not given MSP to the farmers as per the C2 + 50% formula and in the near future the Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will collect the actual data of C2 input cost from various states and will share it with the Ministry of Agriculture.
The government figures on C2 input cost will be challenged in the Supreme Court.
He said that making laws through an ordinance is undemocratic and the central government should first discuss with the farmers before making any law related to farmers.

Farmer leader from Punjab, Jagjit Singh Dallewal said that the central government is moving towards abolishing procurement process of Farmer's Produce at MSP by changing the APMC Act under pressure from the WTO and other global institutions.
He said that the central government wants to run away from its accountability on procurement of Farmer's produce at MSP.
He said that only the big capitalists will benefit from the amendment in the Essential Commodities Act.
He warned the central and state governments that if any attempt is made to abolish the MSP, the government should be ready to face serious consequences.
Farmer Leader from Karnatka, K. Shantakumar said that through the Electricity Amendment Act 2020, the central government wants to stop the electricity supply available to farmers at cheaper rates.
He warned that the government must exclude farmers from electricity amendment act 2020, otherwise central government will face the nationwide agitation of the farmers.
He said that "One Nation, One Market" will benefit traders and exploitation of farmers will increase.
Farmer Leader from Uttar Pradesh, Harpal Chaudhary said that payment worth thousands of crores of rupees of sugarcane is pending but the central government is not taking any steps on this issue. He said that Sugar Mills have stopped purchasing sugarcane which is creating massive problems for farmers.
It is to be noted that a meeting of senior leaders of the Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh will soon be organized through teleconferencing and a strategy for a nationwide movement against the anti-farmer ordinances of the central government will be finalized.
