Ranchi police smash Naxal plot and arrest six rebels

The Ranchi Police has arrested six Naxals from Namkum area in Ranchi in Jharkhand. Acting on a tip-off that some PLFI rebels had assembled at Namkum to carry out an attack on a businessman, police moved in and disrupted the plot.

Ranchi: Six rebels of the People's Liberation Front of India were arrested from different parts of the Naxal-hit Namkum area in Ranchi.

Acting on a tip-off that some active PLFI rebels had assembled at Namkum and are planning to carry out an attack on a businessman, SSP Surendra Kumar Jha constituted a police team and conducted a raid.

The police team reached the spot and arrested six fighters.

Police yet to confirm their identities but they said the militants have a connection with PLFI Supremo Dinesh Gope.

Police have recovered a large number of weapons and ammunition.
