Jaipur: Amid nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, with no way of earning a living, a large group of daily wage workers on Friday set off on a Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh long walk in order to reach their homes.
According to the sources, these labourers had been left with no choice other than attempting to walk back to their village homes which might as well take them a week.
Hundreds of migrants including women and children walked down deserted highway amid lockdown as wages have dried up and many cannot afford the rent or even food in the state.

“We have been compelled to take this decision of walking back home on this deserted highway as we were left with no choice of transportation. In fact, it has become difficult for us to even get two squares of meal a day. The long walk might take us more than a week to reach but for us it is the need of the moment,” a migrant walking back from Rajasthan to MP said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a complete lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19 outbreak in India.
Moreover, the state of Rajasthan has recorded 39 positive cases with no death reported so far.
