Bharatpur (Rajasthan): After spending 21 years apart, a man was reunited with his family in Bharatpur city of Rajasthan.
Baijnath Gupta, who went missing in 1999, was found lying on the road in an injured condition last year by a group of volunteers associated with Apna Ghar - a nonprofit organisation which provides shelter to the homeless - and had been receiving treatment for the past eight months.
"We found him lying on the road. We brought him to the Ashram where he had been receiving treatment for the past eight months but is yet to fully recover from his injuries," Dr BM Bharadwaj, co-founder of Apna Ghar, told ETV Bharat.
When contacted by Apna Ghar, Gupta's son Avdhesh, who was a child when his father went missing, along with his uncle travelled to Bharatpur to take his father home.
The trio broke into tears and embraced each other as soon as they caught sight of each other for the first time in years.
"We looked for him everywhere, " said Avdhesh while holding back his tears.

Gupta gets reunited with his family just days ahead of his daughter's wedding which is supposed to take place on April 26.
"He went missing in 1999, his children were very young, and today, after 21 years, we are meeting him. His daughter is getting married on April 26 and he will get to marry her off, " said Gupta's brother.
Hailing from Fazilnagar, a tiny village in Kushinagar district of Rajasthan, the then 22-year-old Gupta went missing after finishing work at a sweet shop and was nowhere to be found ever since. His daughter was just one-and-half-year-old while his son was only three years old.
