Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police's intelligence unit on Saturday arrested a soldier, who was honey-trapped by an agent of Pakistan's ISI for allegedly sharing confidential and strategic information about the Indian Army, police said.
The soldier, Ram Niwas Gaura, was posted in Jaipur's Armed Forces Civilian Offices and was under surveillance. It was observed that Gaura was in contact with an ISI agent in Pakistan through social media platforms and was passing on confidential information about the Indian Army, a top intelligence officer said.
He said that the accused was sharing information in exchange for money and was indulged in this for a year.
The investigation was initiated against the soldier after registering a case under the Protection of Confidential Information Act and he was arrested subsequently. Further investigation in the case is underway, he said.
