Rajasthan to follow Andhra model to generate employment for differently-abled

After studying the Andhra Pradesh's model, the Rajasthan government will also provide employment to differently-abled people in several soft-activities. Under the NREGA scheme of the central government which is being implemented in the state, the government will work to give special relief to the differently-abled people with a separate job card.

Jaipur: To generate jobs for differently-abled people, the Rajasthan government has proposed several special activities under the NREGA scheme following the Andhra Pradesh government model.

Regarding this, the Panchayat Raj Department has prepared the report and sent it to the government. It will be implemented after getting the green signal from the CM.

Under the NREGA scheme of the central government which is being implemented in the state, the government will work to give special relief to the differently-abled people with a separate job card.

After the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh government model, 26 types of works in NREGA will be reserved for the differently-abled. In which there will be several soft-activities which they can do easily.

Along with this, the government will try to keep the employment days 150 for them. Under the central government scheme, 100 days of employment can be given in a year but for these additional 50 days of employment, the government will need financial management.

Between 2019 and 2020, 18332 differently-abled got work in Rajasthan in an year and the previous year 2018 - 2019, this number was 15947.

If we talk about present year, then the number is high as it is 12812 in just 3 months. In this case, this number is expected to be almost doubled in end of this year.
