New Delhi: Amid the on-going political tussle between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, sacked Congress leader Sanjay Jha has extended his support to the latter and called his contributions 'heroic'.

In a video message, former spokesperson Jha said, "I fully back Sachin Pilot in the current crisis which is confronted Congress party at the moment. There is a simple uncomplicated reason behind it, how can you have a government investigating his own Deputy CM for alleged misdemeanours, when we know that the Home Ministry reports to the CM?"

Demanding party high-command to listen to his issues, he said, "This is an attempt to defame and threaten him so that he has no option left, compelling him to listen to the party's command. We need to be a vibrant internal democracy."

Appreciating Pilot's work, the leader said, "Sachin Pilot's contribution in the Congress comeback in 2018, was heroic. The spectacular comeback of the Congress party was made to happen because he put his blood, tears and sweat behind it."

Pilot made it clear on Sunday that he won't attend the meeting. He also claimed that the Rajasthan government is in minority and more than 30 MLAs of Congress and some independent legislators have pledged to support him.

On Sunday, Congress general secretary Avinash Pandey, senior leader Ajay Maken and chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala had rushed to Jaipur as the observers of the current situation in the state government.

Surjewala, during a press conference on Monday, urged all the MLAs and Pilot to attend the CLP meeting and to give support to the Congress-led state government. He assured that whoever wants to share their problems to the Congress top brass, will be heard while stating that the high-command is in touch with Pilot from past 48 hours.

"I hope that unlike Madhya Pradesh, where we lost a Government and a big political asset in Jyotiraditya Scindia, we will not commit another. We need to be together, we need to be in Rajasthan and Sachin Pilot needs to be heard," Sanjay Jha mentioned in his video.

Earlier, Congress party's senior leader Kapil Sibal also cautioned his party in his tweet, saying, "Worried for our party. Will we wale up only after the horses have bolted from our stables?"
