Raipur: Timely action of police saved a man's life in Raipur who tried to commit suicide over reasons yet to be ascertained.
The man, Sushil, ate rat killer first but when it didn't have any effect on him, he cut his vein. However, a phone call to the police saved his life.
Police said they received a phone call from one Ravindra Ratre who said that his brother-in-law Sushil messaged him on WhatsApp that he was going to commit suicide.
Taking immediate action, police reached Sushil's place and took him to a hospital. He is undergoing treatment at Mekahara Hospital.
The exact reason behind Sushil's extreme step was yet to be ascertained and a probe was underway, police said.
