New Delhi: Railway Ministry to remain closed for the next two days as a staff member has tested positive of Coronavirus, informed a circular, on Monday. This is the fifth case in the Ministry which has been found within two weeks.
An order released by Railway Board stated, "Some Officials of Railway Board have recently tested COVID positive. Accordingly it has been decided to close all offices at Rail Bhawan on 26th and 27th of May, 2020 to carryout intensive sanitization of room and common areas."
Furthermore, all the offices at fourth floor of Rail Bhawan will remain close till Friday, 29th of May, 2020 for thorough disinfection.
Earlier on Sunday, the fourth case within a week of a senior official at the Ministry was detected Corona positive, due to which 14 other officials who worked closely with her have also been sent for home quarantine.
Just before that, another senior officer involved with rhe restructuring of Railway Protection Force, at the Rail Bhawan, had found infected by the virus. As per the officials, she visited Rail Bhawan on May 13, after which the building got shut for sanitisation for two days.
