Vijayawada: Recently crowned World Champion and Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu honoured by the Andhra Pradesh government. The event was organised by sports authority in Tummalapalli Kalakshetram on Friday.
The 24-year-old honoured by Ministers-- Muttamchetti Srinivasarao, Kurasala Kannababu and other officials.
Sindhu's parents Venkata Ramana and Vijaya were also present at the honorary event.
After the meeting, Sindhu went on to express her gratitude towards the state government and thanked the Chief Minister.
When asked about her nomination for the prestigious Padma Bhusan award, she said, “It is not yet confirmed. If I get the award, It will definitely a proud movement for me.”
Minister for Sports M Srinivas Rao was quoted saying, “We all wish her to do well and win the gold medal in the ensuing Olympics. On our part, we extend every possible support to her.”
