Amritsar (Punjab): Four members of a family, including six-month-old twins, were killed when the roof of their house caved on Friday morning in Amritsar due to rain, police said. The incident occured in Babbu Singh Colony of Mule Chak locality.
Officials said that the house was in a dilapidated state.
Ajay Kumar, his wife and twin six-month-old children died following the incident. However, their 7-year-old daughter escaped with minor injuries, police further said.
The family was sleeping on the ground floor of their ''kutcha'' house when the roof caved in, alerting the neighbours who rushed to the spot.
Later, fire brigade and police personnel pulled out the victims from the rubble and they were taken to the Civil Hospital. But the doctors declared them dead. (IANS Report)
