Manali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to meet Army personnel in Lahaul valley during his visit to inaugurate the Atal Rohtang Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. The tunnel - at a height of 10,000 feet is the world's longest highway tunnel.

In the tunnel's South Portal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with army soldiers.

Modi's visit will boost the morale of the army personnel and will also give a strong message to India's neighbours.

On September 25, Ajay Kumar, secretary, ministry of defence, visited the tunnel and held a meeting with BRO officials.

The South Portal will include less than 100 military personnel, including leaders and officers. Tunnel Chief Engineer Brigadier KP Purushothaman said that all preparations for tunnel opening have been completed by BRO.

At the same time, the VIP movement has increased in the district headquarters regarding PM Modi's program. More than 50 vehicles from across the state have reached Kullu for PM Narendra Modi's convoy.

All the vehicles are parked at Dussehra ground in Dhalpur. Minister Govind Singh Thakur and DC Richa Verma are holding meetings and giving directions to welcome PM Narendra Modi.
