President Ramnath Kovind to arrive in Hyd today for customary winter sojourn

As part of a customary ritual, President Ramnath Kovind will arrive in Hyderabad on Friday evening for a four-day customary southern sojourn. During his visit, the President would stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam in the city, one of the Presidential Retreats.

Hyderabad (Telangana): President Ram Nath Kovind is scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on Friday evening for a four-day customary southern sojourn.

During his visit, the President would stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam in the city, one of the Presidential Retreats, from December 21 to 24, according to an official release.

The President will attend a programme at Karimnagar on December 22.

He will host an 'At Home' at the Rashtrapati Nilayam on December 23, the release had said.

Kovind would return to Delhi on December 24.

It is customary for the President to visit Rashtrapati Nilayam and stay there at least once a year and conduct official business from the Nilayam.

In view of his visit, the city police have increased security in Alwal, Bolarum, Hakimpet areas and arrangements have been made for routes diversion.

Located at Bolarum, Rashtrapati Nilayam building was taken over from the Nizam of Hyderabad after India attained independence and handed over to the President's Secretariat.

Constructed during 1860, the building has a total land area of 90 acres. A single-storied building, it contains in its premises 11 rooms.

President Ramnath Kovind will be arriving Hyderabad tomorrow i.e, on December 20 for winter sojourn. The Hyderabad police have tightened the security besides making arrangements on his visit. The central security force has taken Bollaram into their custody where the president will be residing for Nine days. Kovind will arrive at Hakimpet airport. 

Meanwhile, the state secretary SK Joshi asked the officials of the various departmentS to do necessary arrangements.

The president will arrive at Hakimpet airport.  On 22 president leaves to kerala for two days. On 28th Kovind will take part in 'At Home' meet at his residence. He will be returning to Delhi on same day.
