New Delhi: Hours after being axed from the Parliamentary Defence Committee over her controversial 'Godse' remark in the Lok Sabha, BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur on Thursday claimed that she was misquoted as she was referring to freedom fighter Udham Singh.
Issuing an explanation on Twitter, the Parliamentarian from Bhopal said that she "could not bear the insult to freedom fighter Udham Singh," indicating that she was misquoted.
Cracking the whip on its serial-offender MP Pragya Thakur, who reportedly referred to Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse as a 'deshbhakt' in Lok Sabha, the BJP today barred her from attending its parliamentary party meeting in the ongoing Parliament session and removed her from the consultative committee on defence.
BJP working president J P Nadda announced the disciplinary action against her and condemned the controversial leader's remarks in a bid to defuse the political crisis triggered by her remarks in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
