Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday extended her wishes to people on the occasion of Lohri.
"India has a unique culture, farmers thank the nature by celebrating and beating drums after harvesting Kharif corps, wishing all the people on the festival of Til, sweets, dishes and celebration, Lohri #HappyLohri," Gandhi tweeted.
Welcoming longer days and the sun's journey to the northern hemisphere, Lohri is observed the night before Makar Sankranti or Maghi.

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday extended his greetings to people on the occasion of Lohri and wished for 'endless happiness' in everyone's lives.
"Greeting to all on the auspicious occasion of Lohri, I wish you all peace, prosperity and pray that this festival will bring endless happiness to you and your loved ones," a tweet from Punjab Chief Minister read.
Singh also posted a video extending his wishes in Punjabi saying, "This is one of the biggest festivals of Punjab and every family celebrates it with much fervor."

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Monday extended his greetings to the citizens of the country on Lohri and wished for prosperity and happiness in everyone's lives.
"Greetings and good wishes to the people of the country on Lohri. May the festival bring happiness, good health and prosperity to everyone's lives,"he tweeted.
The President also extended his Lohri greetings in separate tweets in Hindi and Punjabi. Lohri is the harvest festival of North India. Bonfire and folk songs are a major part of the celebrations and a puja parikrama around the bonfire is performed, followed by the distribution of prasad.
