Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu): Heavy political clashes broke out between two groups in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu over the recently conducted local body elections on Tuesday.

Violence reportedly started when Rajeshwari, winner of the polls, was attacked with sticks and stones at her residence by Amsayazh, who lost the elections.
Clashes intensified when Rajeshwari's supporters started hitting Amsayazh back, prompting cops to rush to the incident spot. Security was beefed up in the area to restore peace.
