Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): Mangal Kewat, a rickshaw puller by profession, is busy making preparations for his daughter Saakshi's wedding which is scheduled to take place on February 12.
The Varanasi resident had sent out several wedding invites, but one such invite was the most special among all.
Kewat had sent an invite to his Member of Parliament, who also happens to be the Prime Minister of the country.
Citing a busy schedule, PM Narendra Modi responded to Kewat's invitation card stating that he wouldn't be able to attend the wedding but extended his best wishes to the would-be couple.
PM Modi wrote a letter to the father of the bride in Hindi and its English translation reads:
Dear Mangal Prasad Kewat Ji,
Best wishes to the newlyweds for the start of a new journey.
On this auspicious occasion, I wish a life filled with happiness, togetherness and friendship. I wish that with time the companionship gets strong and as they move ahead in life the bond gets stronger. With these words, I wish all the best for a happy and blessed life.
With best wishes
Yours Narendra Modi
This is not the first interaction between Kewat and PM Modi. On July 6, 2019, Kewat was felicitated by PM Modi for his dedication and contribution to the Centre's Swachh Bharat Mission.
