PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana extended

PM Modi: PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana will be extended till the end of November, extension to cost over Rs 90 thousand crore. Free ration for poor to remain till November. The scheme will further be expanded in future. The free ration will benefit over 80 crore people.

“PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana will be extended till Diwali and Chhath Puja (November). For these five months, every family will get 5 kg rice or 5 kg wheat. This will benefit 80 crore people,” Modi said. 

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana 67.65 Lakh MT of foodgrains have been lifted by 36 States/UTs till April 2020. Around 16 LMT of foodgrains have been distributed, covering 60.33 crore beneficiaries by 36 States/UTs for April 2020.

PM Modi details the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan 

PM Modi: Under this scheme, a package worth Rs. 1.75 lakh crore was provided for the poor. In the last three months, 20 Crore poor households have received direct benefit transfers worth Rs. 31,000 Crore.  

The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) of 125 days will involve focused implementation of 25 categories of works/activities in 116 districts, each with a large concentration of returnee migrant workers in six states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Odisha.

PM Modi extends Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana, free ration for poor to remain till Nov

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the nation a day after centre announced new guidelines, under unlock 2.0, amidst surge in COVID-19 cases. According to sources, PM Modi will share his views on Unlock 2.0 which will kick in from Wednesday. He is also likely to discuss the status of COVID-19 vaccine in the country.

According to new guidelines, almost all activities have been allowed outside the containment zones save a few like functioning of schools and colleges and international travel, among others. The new rules will be in force till July 31.

Interestingly, the address comes in the backdrop of the growing India-China border tensions.

On Monday evening, the government banned 59 Chinese apps under national security considerations, a move seen as India's response to China's recent misadventures that resulted in casualties on both sides.
