People are spreading falsehood over CAA, says VHP leader Alok Kumar

Speaking to ETV Bharat after attending a meeting organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad-backed Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti in support of CAA on Sunday, VHP international working president Alok Kumar asserted that the act was enacted to give citizenship to religiously persecuted minorities in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh but people are trying to spread falsehood over issue.

New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international working president Alok Kumar on Sunday asserted that Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will not take anybody's citizenship as there is no such provision in the law but people are trying to spread falsehood over issue.

Weeding out fake news that is being circulated on the issue, he said, "CAA was enacted to give citizenship to religiously persecuted minorities in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The law will not affect the citizenship of any Indian."

Kumar, who was here to attend a meet organised by VHP-backed Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti in support of CAA told ETV Bharat that we all are standing with the government in support of the act and will continue to aware people of the country about the same.

He also said that several videos are going viral on social media that show the reality of the anti-CAA protesters at Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi.

Speaking to ETV Bharat on the construction of Ram temple, Kumar said, "A committee should be constituted for Ram Mandir construction as soon as possible and the construction should begin in Navratas."

A crucial meeting of the Margdarshak Mandal (governing council) of the VHP will take place at Prayagraj on Monday to decide on the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya where Alok Kumar will also be present.

According to sources, Ram temple construction trust in Ayodhya will formed this month and the same will be announced before February.
