Pakistan shows double standard on action against terror: MEA

India slammed Pakistan for showing double standards on its action against terror. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told media that location of Dawood Ibrahim is not a secret. We have repeatedly asked Pakistan that he should be handed over.

New Delhi: Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on Thursday slammed Pakistan for showing double standard on its action against terror.

"Pakistan claims that they have taken action against terror but when we ask for specific action against individuals they ignore. This is double standards," Kumar said.

"Location of Dawood Ibrahim is not a secret. We have repeatedly asked Pakistan that he should be handed over," Kumar told media after Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Muhammad Faisal on Thursday said that Dawood Ibrahim is not in Pakistan.

U.S. government claimed in a London Court on Tuesday that Dawood and his D- company operates from Karachi.

Once again Pakistan has denied underworld don and Mumbai bomb blast mastermind Dawood Ibrahim's presence in its territory. This was in relation to U.S. government's claim which it made in a London Court on Tuesday that Dawood and his D- company operates from Karachi.


Body:Pakistan's response drew a sharp reponse from India. Replying to a media query during its weekly briefing today Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, 'location of Dawood Ibrahim is not a secret. We have repeatedly asked Pakistan to hand him over.'

He further stated saying, 'Pakistan claims that they have taken action against terror but when we ask for specific action against indiviuals they ignore. This is double standards.'


Conclusion:The US government official statement was made during hearing of Dawood Ibrahim's top aide Jabir Moti's trial. Dawood Ibrahim aide was arrested by Scotland yard last year and he faces extradition to the US after an FBI probe charged him with money laundering, extortion and conspiracy to import unlawful substances such as heroine.
