New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday said in case Pakistan would try to use the Kartarpur corridor to incite Sikhs on Khalistan, the community would give it a befitting reply.
Speaking to the ETV Bharat here, R P Singh, national spokesperson of the party, said there was no doubt that Pakistan may use the corridor for anti-India activities but Government of India has faith on the Sikh community.
"Indian Sikhs are ready to deal with it," he said.
The BJP leader also reiterated that Pakistan must charge pilgrims visiting Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
"We will deposit the amount they ask for but poor Sikh should not be charged every time he visits Gurdwara Darbar Sahib," he said.
He also said that Pakistan had not done any great work by building Kartarpur corridor as it was a matter related to faith.
On being asked if Pakistan was trying to build a soft image in the eyes of the world community just by opening up the pilgrimage route for Sikhs, the BJP leader said the world knows the reality.
Earlier, a video song released by the Pakistan government welcoming Sikh pilgrims to visit Kartarpur Sahib created a controversy as it has pictures of three Khalistani separatist leaders, including Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in the background.
India and Pakistan had, on October 24, signed an agreement on the modalities for operationalising Kartarpur Sahib Corridor paving the way for its inauguration ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
