New Delhi: Despite Imran Khan's request for talks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not exchange any pleasantries at the recently concluded Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek. India has clearly said that it cannot have talks with Pakistan government until support for terrorism comes to an end.
Talking exclusively to ETV Bharat, former diplomat Achal Malhotra said, "Until Pakistan takes any tangible verifiable concrete action against terrorism which is sponsored by them. They must not expect any measures from the government of India which softens the relations of both the nation."
When asked whether the action taken by Pakistan post-Balakot air strike is genuine or an eyewash like always, he said, "Pakistan is under tremendous international pressure right now. They have their own economic crisis and they are also facing heat from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). So, these are mere cosmetic measure from them."
The former diplomat went on to say that India need not worry about Pakistan, rather it needs to keep its focus on the domestic affairs and especially on Kashmir.
India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the Pulwama terror attack in February which resulted in the death of more than 40 CRPF personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.
After which Indian Air Force launched air strike at a Pakistan based terror base in Balakot. This move from India received global applause.
