Devanahalli: Bundles of money amounting over 74 lakhs was found in the washroom of Kempegowda International Airport. Ironically, a customs official dropped the money at the washroom, fretting inspection.
A customs officer and his wife, who arrived at the airport to fly from Bangalore Airport to Lucknow, parted with lakhs of rupees in a washroom bathroom, afraid of getting caught during an inspection in Kempegowda International Airport.
The official, Ahmed Mohamed was caught at Kempegowda International Airport while carrying money. The officer working in Chennai, arrived at Kempegowda Airport to go to Lucknow.
At 9 20 am the couple came to boarding section. During the inspection, the officer's wife went to the washroom with a suitcase and threw Rs 10 lakhs in the bathroom. CISF found this suspicious.
Soon after the inspection of the suitcase, they found Rs 74,81,500 and the police were shocked for a moment.
The bag also contained 200 grams of gold, including two costly mobiles, Apple watch and five gold earring and a necklace. The money seized was handed over to CISF police officers and the Income Tax authorities have begun an investigation.
