New Delhi: Congress candidate Imran Pratapgarhi from Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad on Wednesday asserted that he was not threatened by the SP-BSP alliance.
Expressing trust over his supporters, Imran claimed that the result in 2009 would repeat, once again, in 2019.
Outlining his affiliation towards youth, which usually is his main subject, Imran said that though he speaks about several people in his poetry, he ensures that the words personally connects with them (intended subjects).
Also referring to the death of children at Gorakhpur hospital, Imran said that he not only empathised with them through poetry, but also met them personally.
He further mentioned that though he was not involved in politics, he always stood for the well-being the people around him.
On being asked about his decision of contesting from Moradabad, despite hailing from Pratapgarh, Imran said that he wanted to contest from the constituency, as Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi had asked him about his choice.
Over his transformation from a poet to a politician, Imran said that he would work towards preserving the Indian heritage and culture.
Imran also said that the Congress would win a good number of seats in Uttar Pradesh, considering the foray of the brother-sister duo and claimed that Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi would definitely gain a majority in the upcoming general elections.
