New Delhi: RSS leader Indresh Kumar said that no Muslim in the country has any reason to fear the amended Citizenship Act while addressing a pro-CAA event in the national capital on Thursday.
The event was organised by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, which is seen to be sympathetic to Hindutva organisation RSS.
The 'Ulema Conference' featured more than 200 Muslim clergymen, who welcomed the Act, and sent out an appeal to the community's members not to fall to rumours about the law which, they asserted, had nothing to do with Indian citizens.
Speaking at the event, Kumar said that those opposing the Act had not even read it properly, and were misleading the people.
Kumar further attacked the Congress and held it responsible for the partition in 1947. He said that even though it is debated whether who came up with the 'two-nation theory' it was the Congress party which eventually implemented it.
Pertinently, the event was earlier disrupted by protestors, who raised slogans against the Act and NRC.
The Manch's national co-convenor Khurshid Rajaka said Indresh Kumar likened the protestors to "satan" and asked the audience to pray for them.
