Chennai: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered an FIR against a Bangladeshi national's gang for kidnapping a girl from Chennai. Meanwhile, controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik has also been named as accused in the case, who is an exile in Malaysia now.
The girl who went to London to pursue higher studies is said to have been trapped by the gang and abducted. According to the complaint made by the girl's father, she was radicalised and forced to convert into Islam.

Nafees, son of Bangladeshi politician, has been named as the main accused in the kidnapping case. The NIA is also investigating the role of Zakir Naik, who is allegedly suspected to be involved in the crime. The team is also investigating whether any terror group is behind this act.
