New Delhi: DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday said that northeastern states would witness more development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. Dr Singh assumed charge as the Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) for the second consecutive term.
"The northeastern states have witnessed tremendous development in the last five years. I am hopeful that this time too I will be able to fulfil the expectations of the Prime Minister as well as the people of Northeast," said Dr Singh.
In fact, in the last five years, the landlocked region has witnessed development in terms of both connectivity and infrastructure. Sources in the government said that looking into the performance of the minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had again bestowed the responsibility of DoNER ministry to Singh. Immediately after taking charge, the minister had taken a review meeting with his officials at the Vigyan Bhawan annexe.
