New Delhi: A day before India celebrates its 73rd independence day, central intelligence agencies and all security forces across the country have been put on maximum alert to avert any possible untoward incident.
Special security arrangements have also been made in commercial and industrial hubs and minority populated areas in the national capital and NCR.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, special superintendent of police (SSP) of Gautam Budh Nagar in Greater Noida, Vaibhav Krishna said that instructions have been issued to report on any suspicious movements.
"We have taken all security measures to avert any possible untoward incident. We have also asked the RWA to be on alert," said Krishna.
He said that strict monitoring is going on in metro stations, multiplexes as well as malls across NCR.
Referring to the presence of youths from Jammu and Kashmir in Gautam Budh Nagar area, Krishna said, "It's not about any particular community, security has been tightened across different locations."
In a recent notification, the Union Home Ministry had asked all central intelligence agencies and central paramilitary forces to take maximum precautions to foil any sabotage attempt.
