Nagaur: Rajasthan police on Tuesday held a person for allegedly raping a 25-year-old Dalit woman in Nagaur district, officials said. Police said that two more accused are on the run and efforts are on to nab them.
Additional SP Sanjay Gupta, additional district collector and circle house officer went to the house of the victim and recorded her statement.
On January 19, the victim, who went to the fields in the morning, was allegedly gang-raped by three men and accused reportedly inserted a bottle in her private parts. The accused also threatened the family members of the victim to kill them if they reported the crime.
A case was registered by the family members five days after the incident. According to reports, a local police officer who was under transfer hadn’t acted on their initial complaint. The complaint was registered only after the intervention of senior officials.

Medical examination and questioning of the victim has been done. We have detained one accused and interrogation is going on. We are investigating the case from all angles."
