Malappuram (Kerala): The Motor Vehicle Department has suspended the license of a man who let his five-year-old son control the handlebar of his motorbike on the main road in Malappuram district of Kerala.
The incident happened on December 31 morning. Abdul Majeed, a native of Thelakkadu, was riding on his motorbike along with his little son, from Kappu on Mannarkkad Perintalmanna Highway to Thelakkadu. On this stretch, Abdul Majeed was training his 5-year-old son to hold the bike handle and control it, while he was still riding on the road.
Perinthalmanna Motor Vehicle Inspector Binoy Varghese had got a video of Abdul Majeed training the little boy on the road. Following this, an investigation was carried out and it was found that Abdul Majeed was riding the bike and letting his child control the handle.
It was recommended to initiate action against Abdul Majeed and a show-cause notice was sent to him. Then, Abdul Majeed confessed that it was his little son who was with him. Later, Perintalmanna Joint RTO U Mujeeb informed that Abdul Majeed’s driving license has been cancelled for a period of one year.
