Rajgarh: Once again batting for a law against love Jihad, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pragya Thakur on Friday said it [law] should be made and implemented in the whole country. She added that the saffron party respects women and that's why it's coming up with special, stricter laws.
"Opposition parties have created this problem, there was no such thing as love jihad earlier. Love is God, but some criminals have corrupted love. Special laws should be made for such people and there should be severe punishment. Because killing someone's modesty is a big crime. It is not appropriate for such people to roam freely," Thakur said.
The MP was reacting to BJP leader Narottam Mishra's comment that BJP will bring law against 'Love Jihad' in Bengal if it comes to power.
The Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh governments have already set into motion a law against love Jihad, with the former state getting the approval of Governor Anandiben Patel.
