Mother's Day special: Karnataka teacher gets 383 child heart patients treated

Shivamogga (Karnataka): As many as 383 children with heart disease have been treated and are now hale and hearty, thanks to a teacher from Karnataka’s Shivamogga district who played an instrumental role in getting their treatment done.

Anita Marie, a teacher at Donabaghatta Government School, in Bhadravati area of Shivamogga, lost her sibling year’s ago to a disease because of lack of money for her treatment.

It was this incident, which triggered the saviour instinct in her and she dedicated her life to saving children born with heart diseases.

She has been helping the families of these children with getting enrolled under the state government’s Suvarna Arogya Chaithanya scheme which provides free treatment to children with ailments related to heart, ear, and eyes.

Marie hasn’t charged a single penny from the parents of these children for helping them.
